The Solaris Software Packages found in this section are basically created for my personal use. However, I thought it might be a good idea to share my work with the rest of the world. But remember, these are not official packages. I am not liable for any damage caused by downloading, installing, and/or running the software or package.
The applications and libraries have been built using the Sun Studio Compiler. They are intended to run on Solaris 10 for Intel using x86 processors supporting the SSE2 instructions. The software has been compiled using at least the -xO5 and -xarch=sse2 compiler flags. For OpenSolaris stuff, refer to the OpenSolaris Packages page.
By default, the packages are installed in /opt/guengel. Support for Solaris Zones is limited (help welcome).
If you are unfamiliar with the installation of software under Solaris, read the brief installation instruction. This will also explain how to use gglpkg, a tool similar to pkg-get.
Browse the categories on the left or the download directory directly for packages. Unfortunately, I was too lazzy to provide full dependency information for the packages on these pages, but the packages start to complain if dependencies with packages found on this page are not met. However, I expect you to have installed all Solaris packages that come with the installation CDs/DVDs. Dependencies with those packages are only partially recorded.
In case you have questions regarding the packages, feel free to contact me.
